The Perfect Christmas Tree

This past weekend we made our way to Niagara Nurseries to pick out our Christmas trees - one for our living room, and one for Willen's room.

The idea of marching through a snowy woods to pick out and chop down the perfect tree sounds wonderful, but we don't mind selecting our trees from their yard. They pick beautiful, perfectly shaped trees and offer a few different varieties to choose from. I love the look and smell of the White Pine, but unfortunately they just don't last as long as we like to have our tree up for. We've always had excellent luck with Fraser Firs. They're known for their "beautiful layered appearance, upswept branch angle, and excellent needle retention". They also last all for nearly the month of December with regular watering.

We also love that when we purchase a Kris Kringle tree from them, three saplings are planted in it's place.

After a little bit of searching, we finally found our tree.

While they wrapped the trees, we enjoyed some hot apple cider and cookies inside the garden center. I also picked up a few Paperwhite bulbs to force. Then back home we went, trees tied to the roof, to start decorating.
