Country Living Fair - Part I

Deciding to head down to the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, New York was a relatively last minute decision. My Aunt, Mother-In-Law, and her best friend all headed down for two nights. We all crashed together in a hotel room and enjoyed a weekend of browsing the show, scouring local shops and touring the Hudson Valley.

It was my first time at the New York show, and while I think I still prefer the Colombus show, I had a great time. There were lots of great vendors and it took the day to get through everything.

Lots of wonderful vintage finds.

I think this little section was my favourite. So many beautiful pieces.

There were quite a few vendors selling topiaries. I really wanted to pick out three of them to bring home, but unfortunately bringing plants of the border isn't allowed.

As amazing as the show was, I think my favourite part of the trip was just driving around the area. It seemed like every house was beautifully maintained and full of character. Kinderhook was my favourite. My Aunt Jeanette and I just walked up and down the streets (it was quite small) and took in all the lovely gardens and homes. There were some very grand estates, and some very quaint little cottages.

Does it get any more idyllic than this?

I have one shop in particular that I'm looking forward to sharing. It was really the only one I had researched ahead of time and was really looking forward to visiting. I wasn't disappointed!

But that will be a post all to it's own.
